The 9th AKKA World Kannada conference is scheduled for three days from September 2, 2016 at the lovely Atlantic City of New Jersey in United States of America.

Wonderful arrangements are going on according to convener Sharat Bhandari. Nearly 30 prominent personalities including Dr Ambarish from Kannada cinema industry and cultural fraternity are taking part in this 9th World AKKA sammelana.

According to Mr Raj Patil, President of AKKA - During the three days of WKC 2016, we will celebrate the achievements of our people, immerse in the rich culture of our homeland, encourage our young upcoming talent on a global stage, and facilitate learning and exchange of ideas in various areas. These will include business, youth interests, literary, a women’s forum, among many others. One of our key objectives for this event is to involve our youth by making it more relevant to them. Not to forget it will be a great opportunity to get away from the routine, enjoy delicious authentic food, and have some fun with family and friends!

This year’s exciting event is designed around the theme of “let’s all celebrate the greatness of Kannada” – we picked this based on the strong belief that language has always been and will continue to be a key foundation to preserving any culture over generations.

Among the prominent personalities Sri Vidyabhushan, Krishnaprasad, Jayathirtha Mevundi, Balachandra Prabhu, Athitha Fusion band, Rathnamala Prakash and others are taking part. The cultural shows like folk music, folk arts like Dollu Kunitha, Tamate, Veeragase, Pooja Kunitha, Lambani dance, kathak, Bharatanatyam, skits, plays plus ‘Kannada Mathaadu’ short film festival is organized, Padmasri Girish Kasaravalli and Nagabharana TS are judges of it.

‘AMBI NIGHT’ – the icon of Kannada cinema former minister in state and union Dr Ambarish musical night is one of the much expected event at this 9th AKKA event. Dr Ambarish, Sumalatha, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Yash, Radhika Pandit, Darshan, Puneeth Rajakumar, Ragini Dwivedi, Rachita Ram Doddanna, Sadhu Kokila and others are taking part in the memorable evening.

The goals of this 9th AKKA Sammelana are – Kannada Ulisona Belasona, Kannada Kali, Americadalli Kannada sinimagalige protsaha!

On 13 acres spacious place at Atlantic convention center (west coast) is the rendezvous for AKKA event.
